Foundation for the Homeless' Day Resource Center is used every Sunday by shelter families while the new congregations are being prepared to welcome them Sunday evening as the shelter site for the week. The DRC also has 3 bedrooms set up as an extension of shelter for families who are close to moving into their own housing, so that FFC can assist more families in the congregational networks. The DRC needs a good thorough cleaning, including baseboards, vents, walls, cabinets, oven, floors, doors, etc. It’s also possible that the pantry will need to be better organized and that we will have curtains that need to be hung. Manos de Cristo will need help with getting ready for their annual gala which brings in the most donations to Manos, which allows the organization to continue to serve the impoverished community of Central Texas. Volunteers will be helping to put together auction packets and auction paddles. There will be a project to help the Basic Needs Coordinator get the food and clothing ready for clients as well.

Seedling Foundation operates a Campus Beautification program on behalf of Austin ISD public school campuses. The work includes interior and exterior painting, landscaping, and maintaining landscaping projects. Depending on the weather, volunteers may be outside painting or gardening or inside painting. The projects will be supervised by the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Seedling, John Blazier and his team.

Volunteers will be helping Special Olympics Texas unload, sort, organize, and pack all new and old merchandise for the 2012 Winter Games. Volunteers will be indoors for everything but the unloading, and a few volunteers will be needed to lift boxes up to 25lbs.
